A GOD DOMINATED HEART

Insignificant, Yet Chosen

I Samuel 16:1-13

What did God see in David's heart?

1. A heart that was COMPLETELY His.

"For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully (completely) committed to him."—2 Chronicles 16:9

2. A heart that was HUMBLE.

"He chose David his servant and took him from the sheep pens."—Psalm 78:70

3. A heart of INTEGRITY.

"…from tending the sheep he brought him to be the shepherd of his people Jacob, of Israel his inheritance. And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them."—Psalm 78:71-72

Two things we can take from these passages:

1. Am I attempting to find my worth by the world's standards?

2. Am I developing a heart like David's?
